The lastest and greatest happening in the world of star* scheme.
star* now featuring on Guildford RFC 1st team shirts!
As the result of a generous contribution by a benefactor on behalf of star*, we are thrilled to announce that star* scheme is now the main logo on the new Guildford Rugby 1st team shirts! As a proud partner, we look forward to promoting and supporting both the club and our charity's mission through this fantastic collaboration.
This marks a significant milestone for star* scheme as we continue to grow our presence and impact within the local community. With Guildford RFC’s strong values of teamwork, inclusivity, and dedication, we are confident this partnership will inspire greater awareness of the important work star* scheme does in supporting coaches and volunteers.
Together, we'll build a stronger community, and the club will help us in promoting our charity at upcoming matches, events, and social initiatives.
Welcome Wales!
We are excited to announce that Scarlets is the first Walsh region we are currently working with to build on the expansion of star* and the move into Wales. We can’t wait to see the season unfold, with new clubs joining along the way. We are very fortunate to have Jonny Griffiths as our Regional Manager overseeing the area, and we are especially grateful to the community team for making this happen by allowing us to have him after his time working with them.
Jonny Griffiths had this to say about star* scheme breaching into Wales.
“An exciting time here in Wales being the first region to partner with star*. A region with a real family ethos, hoping to support and implement rugby values both on and off the pitch. Looking forward to welcoming new clubs into star and supporting young people, families and volunteers in becoming the first star clubs in Wales. Removing barriers to enable young people to shine in a safe space.”
star* finalist in the North Somerset Reset Awards
North Somerset Youth Awards 2024 by Reset Weston-Super-Mare.
On Friday, July 13th, we had the incredible opportunity to attend the North Somerset Youth Awards 2024 organized by Reset Weston-Super-Mare. We were thrilled to learn that star* made it to the final three in the Children’s Support Champions category. The star* program was nominated for this honour by Sam, a star* trained coach at Weston-Super-Mare.
One of the highlights of the evening was watching a heartwarming video featuring Sam and Helen from Weston RFC, as well as the star* young people, discussing the transformative impact of star* on their lives and the club. It was truly inspiring to witness so many young people being celebrated for their achievements.
We are extremely grateful to Weston RFC and Reset for the nomination and for providing us with this wonderful experience.

Bristol, UK – Barrett David Wilson Homes has successfully raised an impressive £56,297.37 for star* scheme through their annual charity dinner and participation in the Bristol 10k run. The fundraising efforts showcased the company's commitment to supporting local youth and communities.
On April 26th, Barrett Homes and David Wilson Homes hosted their highly anticipated annual charity dinner at Ashton Gate, an apt venue for star*, as we are deeply connected to the Bristol Bears and The Bristol Bears Rugby Foundation. The event, attended by 300 guests, featured a live auction led by Peter Scrivener, a raffle, and captivating magic entertainment by Richard Jones, among other activities. The evening was a resounding success, filled with joy and generosity.
In addition to the dinner, BDW Homes participated in the Bristol 10k run on the 18th of May, with 23 staff members joining a total of 94 runners, all running to support star*. The combined efforts of both events resulted in a substantial fundraising total.

Joint Partnership Between star* scheme and Rugby Recycled
We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership between the star* scheme and Rugby Recycled! Together, we're making a difference in the lives of young rugby players across the UK.
Rugby Recycled, founded in 2011, has been transforming lives by collecting and donating old rugby boots and kits to underprivileged communities. This initiative started in Durban, South Africa, and has grown tremendously with support from clubs and schools in both South Africa and the UK.
Sian and Kelly from the star* scheme had the pleasure of meeting Gareth Simpson, the founder of Rugby Recycled when Saracens played Bristol Bears. The previous day, Sian and Christian collected a massive donation of boots, t-shirts and sports bras for star*, ready to distribute across the star* network.
Our partnership has already seen amazing results, including donations to rugby clubs in the South West, like North Bristol Girls Rugby Club and Avonmouth RFC where we passed on sports bras.
With this collaboration, we aim to ensure every young player has the gear they need to pursue their passion and develop their skills.
